California Yamaha Rhino rollover seriously injures two youths
Livermore, California - Two young people were seriously injured Saturday afternoon when the 2007 Yamaha Rhino in which they were riding rolled over while the driver was making a turn. The 17-year-old driver sustained major injuries to his neck and face and was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, California. His 17-year-old passenger sustained trauma to her neck and right arm, and was flown to Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California.
This tragic accident occured on the third weekend in a row in which there have been published reports of deaths or serious injuries to juveniles in Yamaha Rhino rollovers. The previous weekend, on August 24, a reported Yamaha Rhino rollover killed a 3-year-old Wisconsin boy. On August 17, an 8-year-old Texas boy was pronounced dead of massive injuries after he was crushed in a Yamaha Rhino rollover.
The Yamaha Rhino has a high center-of-gravity and narrow wheelbase that makes it prone to easily rollover. These rollovers have resulted in significant numbers of injuries and deaths. More information about the danger of injuries and deaths from the Yamaha Rhino ATV is available at the ATV Attorney Alliance’s Yamaha Rhino rollover page.
